Beaches in Maine

Maine beaches and state parks are plentiful. Coastal regions abound with sandy ocean beaches, but even if you're not near the coast there are numerous swimming spots inland, particularly on the state's many lakes.

The water temperature at ocean beaches may be too chilly for some (though that doesn't stop some people from taking a dip, even in the winter), but the beaches are great places for walks any time of year.
