Portland Head Light, perched at the edge of scenic Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, is the state's oldest lighthouse (built 1787-1790). It is also one of Maine's most popular tourist destinations, and for good reason — it's breathtaking.

Babb's Bridge in South Windham is Maine's oldest covered bridge, built in 1843. It burned in 1973, but has since been rebuilt.
